So you've heard about skin needling (also known as micro-needling skin treatments) and are wondering how much this skin treatment costs.
We've compiled a list of what you can expect to pay per session depending on your location or if you decide to do it yourself.
Let's get into it!
How much does skin needling cost in Australia?
The prices of skin needling treatments vary throughout Australia, but you can expect to pay anywhere from $100-$600 per session if going to a professional skin clinic.
Skin needling requires a large number of sessions to get results, so this price can quickly add up depending on how many sessions your skin needs.
For stretch marks or large areas of the body, expect the price to be even larger than what's listed below.
Skin needling at a clinic vs at-home skin needling prices
The good news is microneedling can be done yourself at home for as low as $1.39 a session.
Using a TGA-registered device such as a derma roller means you can improve your skin from home safely and efficiently at a very low cost.
Each derma roller head will last you 8-12 uses and rolling your skin is completely pain free and easy to do. Some people even find it relaxing!
At a clinic, the service provider will either use a derma roller or an electronic derma pen.
An electronic derma pen may make you feel like you're getting an expensive treatment done, but it's just a massive piece of equipment that in my opinion completely unnecessary for most people.
Using a derma roller with the equivalent needle size will yield the exact same results and you can fit it into your schedule much easier.

Skin needling treatment description
Skin needling and microneedling treatment usually start with an initial consultation (if you're going to a clinic).
You'll be able to ask as many questions as you like, and the service provider will recommend the best options for you.
This will usually be where they'll upsell you even more expensive treatments, so be ready for this.
On your treatment day, your skin will be rolled (if using a dermaroller) or stamped if using a pen.
Depending on the needle size used you may experience some minor discomfort and redness may stick around for up to 24 hours.
After you're treatment, your skin feels a little tender, but you'll be able to resume normal activities almost immediately.
Then, to get results, you'll need to repeat the treatment a minimum of 3-4 times before results will start to show.
Summary
Skin needling provides fantastic results to most skin types, but it can get expensive if going to clinics.
We recommend you purchase a derma roller from home (to save money), which works out almost 1000x cheaper and yields the same results.
Whether you have acne, acne scarring (acne scars), stretch marks, wrinkles, pigmentation issues (skin tone) or just want a boost in collagen & elastin, the benefits of microneedling on all areas of the body are well documented.
Skin treatments combined with serums with fantastic active ingredients will give you the best results on the treated area.
If you've tried light therapy (LED light therapy) or other treatments on the face, neck, body or other areas before, microneedling will blow you away with the results you will get.
